REFELECTION REPORT
EVENT TITLE: Basic of PHP
The webinar titled "Introduction to the Basics of PHP" was successfully organized by our group, Structure Squad, with the aim of providing students and aspiring developers with foundational knowledge in PHP programming. The event was conducted on December 6, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, and was held online via Google Meet, with simultaneous streaming on Facebook Live to ensure broader accessibility.
Our guest speaker, Mr. Diether Llenares, a skilled and experienced Full-Stack Developer, shared his expertise and guided the participants through the fundamentals of PHP. The session covered topics such as PHP syntax, variables, conditional statements, loops, and basic form handling, all designed to give beginners a strong starting point in web development.
The webinar was open to all and completely free of charge, with e-certificates provided to all attendees as a token of participation and learning. The event was well-received, with numerous participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity to learn directly from an industry professional.
This initiative was part of Structure Squad's ongoing effort to promote accessible tech education and to inspire more learners to explore the world of web development.
II. REFELECTIONS ON THE WEBINAR/ACTIVITY GIVE RISE TO (LEARNINGS)
The webinar provided a valuable learning experience, especially for beginners in the field of web development. Through the insights shared by Mr. Diether Llenares, we were able to understand the importance of PHP as a server-side scripting language and its vital role in creating dynamic web pages.
One of the key takeaways was learning how PHP interacts with HTML and databases, which helped us see how websites function behind the scenes. The basic concepts such as variables, operators, control structures, and form handling were explained in a way that was easy to follow and apply, even for those with no prior programming experience.
Moreover, the speaker emphasized the importance of practice and consistency in learning any programming language. This inspired many of us to continue exploring PHP and possibly pursue careers in web development. It was also a reminder that even a basic understanding of coding can open up many opportunities in the tech industry.
Overall, the webinar not only equipped us with technical knowledge but also motivated us to keep learning and improving our skills.
III. REFLECTIONS ON POSSIBILITIES ON IMPLEMENTING SOME OF THE WEBINAR/SEMINAR INPUT ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL (PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF LEARNINGS)
The knowledge we gained from the webinar can be applied by creating simple dynamic websites using PHP. We can start practicing by making forms, connecting to databases, and building basic web applications. These small projects will help us improve our skills and prepare us for real-world web development tasks in the future.
IV. POSITIVE FEEDBACKS
The webinar was very informative and well-organized. The speaker, Diether Llenares, explained the basics of PHP clearly and gave real-world examples that made it easier to understand. The interactive session and free e-certificate were great additions. Overall, it was a valuable learning experience for everyone, especially for beginners who want to explore web development.
V. SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE/CONSIDER FOR FUTURE ACTIVITIES
For future webinars, it would be helpful to allot more time for open forum or Q&A so participants can ask more questions. A short hands-on activity or demo would also enhance the learning experience. Lastly, sending reminders before the event could ensure better attendance and participation.
