               INDUSTRY VISIT TITLE: WISTRON

       I.          DETAILS OF THE EVENT/ACTIVITY

On May 5, 2025, our group had the opportunity to conduct an industry visit at Wistron Infocomm (Philippines) Corporation, a globally recognized electronics manufacturing services company. The visit started at around 10:30 AM and took place at Unit 214, D Blocks 47 Central Business District, Rizal Highway, Olongapo City, 2200 Zambales.

Wistron is known for providing high-quality design, manufacturing, and after-sales services for a wide range of ICT products, including laptops, servers, storage systems, and communication devices. The company plays a key role in the global technology supply chain and serves major brands around the world.

During the visit, we were welcomed by company representatives who gave us a comprehensive orientation about Wistron's operations, company background, and the scope of services they offer. We were given insights into their manufacturing process, quality control measures, and how technology is integrated in their workflow.

The purpose of the visit was to expose students to real-world practices in the IT and electronics manufacturing industry, allowing us to connect classroom learning with actual work environments. It was an insightful and productive experience that helped broaden our understanding of industry standards and workplace expectations.

II.          REFELECTIONS ON THE WEBINAR/ACTIVITY GIVE RISE TO (LEARNINGS)

During our company visit at Wistron, I learned that skills can be developed and appreciated no matter where you start, as long as you are passionate and willing to learn. One of the most interesting parts of the visit was seeing the console repair section, where we observed how various electronic devices are diagnosed and fixed. It was inspiring to see how detailed and technical the process is, and how employees are trained to handle each step professionally.

I realized that even in large companies like Wistron, every task—big or small—is important. Whether it’s testing, assembling, or repairing, each role contributes to the success of the entire operation. This taught me the value of starting from the basics and building up my skills over time. The visit gave me a better understanding of how the repair process works and sparked my interest even more in the field of electronics and IT. It also reminded me that with dedication, I can grow in any area where I’m passionate and skilled.

III.          REFLECTIONS ON POSSIBILITIES ON IMPLEMENTING SOME OF THE WEBINAR INPUT ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL (PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF LEARNINGS)

Our visit to Wistron opened my eyes to how technical knowledge can be applied in real work environments, especially in electronics and device repair. One of the key takeaways was seeing how structured and efficient their repair process is—from diagnosis to troubleshooting, and finally to quality checking. These are skills that I can start practicing even as a student, by learning how to repair basic electronic devices or computers.

I also saw the importance of teamwork and discipline in a professional setting. Each employee had a specific task but worked together seamlessly to meet their goals. This is something I can apply in school or future group projects—by being organized, committed, and responsible for my role.

Additionally, the experience motivated me to improve my attention to detail, time management, and willingness to learn new technical skills. It showed me that hands-on experience, even at a basic level, is a strong foundation for a future career in IT or electronics. With practice and dedication, I believe I can apply what I observed and learned at Wistron to real-world situations and improve my own technical abilities.

   IV.          POSITIVE FEEDBACKS

The company visit to Wistron was a very informative and inspiring experience. One of the things I appreciated most was how accommodating and professional the staff were—they explained the processes clearly and answered our questions patiently. The work environment was clean, organized, and showed how serious they are in maintaining high-quality standards.

I was impressed with how Wistron handles device repairs, especially seeing their use of advanced tools and systematic procedures. It showed me how important precision and proper handling are in the electronics industry. The staff also demonstrated discipline and teamwork, which I found motivating.

Overall, Wistron left a positive impression on me. Even though I didn’t know much about the company before, I saw that they offer a great learning environment, especially for students or trainees who are interested in hands-on technical work. I would definitely recommend this company to others who are looking to gain practical experience in electronics and repair services.

     V.          SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE/CONSIDER FOR FUTURE ACTIVITIES

Although the visit to Wistron was informative, future activities could be improved by providing more background information about the company before the visit. This would help participants better understand what to expect. It would also be helpful to allow more interaction or a short Q&A session, even within strict security protocols, so we could gain more insights directly from the employees.
